Oral surgery covers any medical procedure that is performed on the mouth, including any extractions and biopsies. We can carry out most maxillofacial and mouth related surgeries at our practice.
Extractions
For teeth with extensive damage, the best thing to do is remove it to relieve any pain and discomfort that it’s causing. Modern dentistry presents many great ways to replace missing teeth, including bridges, dentures and implants.

Zaman is a Dental Surgeon with extensive experience in oral surgery, having trained in dental hospitals and major trauma centres since qualifying in 2010.
He is accredited as a Dentist with a Special Interest in Oral Surgery and regularly receives referrals for complex tooth extractions, including surgical wisdom teeth removal. His surgical expertise is backed by postgraduate recognition in oral and maxillofacial surgery and a master’s degree in Clinical Implantology.
Zaman is skilled in managing patients with dental trauma, anxiety, and complex medical histories. He stays up to date with the latest surgical techniques by attending national and international dental conferences.
Wisdom teeth
One of the most common types of extraction involves removing wisdom teeth. These large molars start to grow during the late teens onwards and sometimes there isn’t enough room in the mouth for them to properly grow, causing them to become impacted.
Orthodontic extractions
For cases of overcrowding, we may need to remove some teeth to allow space for the other teeth to move. This is common for children benefiting from orthodontic treatment and need to have bite issues corrected.
Soft tissue surgery
Oral surgery also covers any medical procedure carried out on the gums, cheeks and tongue. We can remove any lumps and bumps, including biopsies for abnormalities.
